ELKO to distribute realme in Ukraine
realme, the world’s fastest-growing smartphone brand, has signed an agreement with ELKO for product distribution in Ukraine. The addition of ELKO will ensure the needed financing and operational capacity to support the market's rising demand and the brand's growth ambitions.
According to Strategy Analytics, realme is the fastest growing smartphone brand in Europe in 2021 with a year-over-year growth rate of 500% and ranks top 5 by volume.
The Ukrainian smartphone market is recovering, but at the same time, risks related to product delivery and distribution remain high. The attraction of ELKO – one of the region’s largest distributors, lets realme cover risks better and improves product availability for the market.
“Thanks to the product specifications and pricing strategy, realme is highly demanded among youth. Mainstream product distribution is capital intensive, and not all market players can handle it, especially in the situation where Ukraine stand now. Scale, experience, and financing opportunities are strong advantages of ELKO, and we believe all parties, from manufacturer to end-user, will gain from it,” Baiba Indane, Head of Branded Unit at ELKO Group.
