ELKO Group organises regional IT industry partner conference

By reaching its largest turnover last year, ELKO Group has established itself as an industry leader in Europe and Central Asia and is one of the largest companies in Latvia. In celebration of ELKO's anniversary, the largest IT trade players in the region will come together at a conference “ELKO MeetUP” on 17 May which also will be live streamed on elko25.com
“One of the keys of ELKO’s success is the decision to take the regional consolidation route rather than globalisation in which so many large companies from other sectors have taken a plunge. It allows us to retain competitive advantages — our ability to be efficient not resulting from automated activities, but rather by stressing the importance of personal approach. It is the only way how we can retain our connection with a client which has become even more valuable now, when automation has spread far and wide. Furthermore, we choose to operate only in the markets whose culture is familiar to us and where cooperation is mutually beneficial,” as one of the most important development factors mentions Svens Dinsdorfs, ELKO Group Director.

On 17 May, ELKO is organising regional IT industry partner and technology conference “ELKO MeetUP” in Riga. It will bring together 600 largest cooperation partners and clients from the Baltic States, Central and Eastern Europe, CIS and Nordic countries as well as producers’ representatives from across the globe. The conference will focus on different technology topics such as cyber security, blockchain technology, and trends in distribution industry. One of the keys of ELKO’s success is that it sees the importance of personal approach in business. Thus, the conference programme also covers topics such as critical thinking, the reaching of business objectives and the role of communication in the age of artificial intelligence.
Among the key speakers are ELKO Group Director Svens Dinsdorfs who will talk about today’s role of distributors, “Global Technology Distribution Council” General Manager Europe Peter Van Den Berg who will address the industry’s success and trends over the last 25 years, and “PHD Global Business” Global Innovation Director Phil Rowley who will explain how brands can use artificial intelligence, virtual and extended reality in marketing strategies.

The conference will be held in English and the live stream will be available on ELKO website and Facebook page. The live stream will start at 10.00. To see the full conference programme, visit https://www.elko25.com.

Celebrating its 25 years in business, ELKO has become one of the largest IT product and service distributors in Europe and Central Asia. It all started with four people and their idea about a company. By increasing volume and improving efficiency, it now has become not only a leader in Latvia, but also in the whole region employing over 700 people. Currently, ELKO represents 210 producers of which 80 have started their cooperation in the last two years.

By offering products and services to over 7700 clients from 30 different countries in Europe and Central Asia, the company reached close to 1.5-billion-euro turnover in 2017. The company’s gross profit has increased by 42 % in comparison to 2016, while the biggest increase in turnover has taken place in the Baltic States (by 8.8 %). It has started its operation also in Northern Europe by purchasing 85 % of Gandalf Distribution AB shares which is one of the leading hardware and electronics distributors in Sweden.
