Foundation stone of the company was put in Riga by four young people having a business vision in their mind and willpower to reach it. In year 1992 they started to purchase components, assemble computers and sell them to end users as well as to resellers in Latvia.

Today joint stock company ELKO Group operates in 9 countries - Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine. The headquarters of ELKO Group are located in Riga (Latvia), and function as heart of company’s administration, logistics, finance, marketing, and IT support.

Knowing the importance of technologies in the development of the company ELKO Group permanently invests in the improvement of IT infrastructure. For optimal coordination of products’ and cash flows all branches are connected to a united system of accounting and transaction system (JD Edwards). Emphasis is also put on the development of e-commerce, one of the most efficient selling tools. Currently about 15% of the sales in ELKO Group offices are done through e-commerce.

Today ELKO Group offers full range of IT products – components, peripheral equipment, PCs and notebooks, servers and network solutions - from more than 70 world-leading producers.

ELKO Group is Nr 1 distributor of Intel products in Russia and Latvia, top 3 – in EMEA region. Among the top five distributors of Hitachi, Seagate and  Western Digital products in EMEA region. Leading distributor of Acer and Sony notebooks ion Russia.
