DISTREE XXL - EMEA region’s premier distribution event took place in Monaco from 8th till 11th of February. The event creates a new, unrivalled opportunity for channel leaders across EMEA to meet and do business with their existing and prospective vendors. Unlike conventional trade shows, DISTREE XXL unites senior channel-focused executives from hundreds of vendors with major distributors from more than 80 countries across EMEA. At this time DISTREE XXL brought together a record number (more than 850) senior executives from the distribution channel including vendors, distributors and, for the first time, e-tailers. DISTREE concept, successfully launched in 2003, is based on this clear concept: bring high-level buyers into productive contact with vital vendors.
For the second time as part of annual DISTREE XXL 2010 conference, the inaugural awards ceremony for the “EMEA Channel Academy: 2010 Awards” voted winners in 10 separate award categories for distributors and 8 vendor categories, including the best distributor in Russia & CIS territory. A special jury of EMEA-level vendor executives voted live to select the winners for each award. For the second year already, as a proof of correct company's development strategy and cooperation with its partners – in category “The best distributor in Russia and CIS region” company ELKO was declared as a winner.
“In the months leading up to the „EMEA Channel Academy: 2010”, hundreds of senior vendor executives were polled to understand their preferred distributors by region.” said Farouk Hemraj, director at the EMEA Channel Academy. “These results were collated to produce the nominees for each award, with the eventual winner selected by the Channel Academy jury using live electronic voting at the Gala Dinner.”
