This Saturday, August 9 in Riga on the River Daugava between the Akmens and Vansu bridges the six hour water motor sport endurance race “6 Hours of Riga” will take place. The race is organized for inflatable boats with outboard motor or RIB type boats. This race will be the third and closing round of the speedboat European Championship as well as the Baltic open cup for speedboats in the RIB classes.
The race will be organized as a six hour endurance race – the winning team will be that, which completes the most laps in the given time. This race is a test of endurance for both the sportsmen as well as the machinery.
15 teams will take their places at the start line in Riga on Saturday, among them will be the team of one of the leading IT product distributors and Latvia’s largest company AS “ELKO Group” – “ELKO Racing Team”. One of the pilots in the team is AS “ELKO Group” board member Stanislav Matveyev.
“ELKO Racing Team” was created in 2003 and received the champion title in its class (3rd class) in the first year. The team has shown successful results in the following years, being a regular guest on the pedestal – second place in the 2006 European Championship, and one of the highest ratings in the 2007 European Championship. Currently, after two closed championship rounds “ELKO Racing Team” is in second place and hoping to achieve leader position in the final Riga race.
In order to support “ELKO Racing Team” in achieving the needed and deserved victory, AS “ELKO Group” invites friends and supporters to gather in a special “ELKO Fan Tent” on the AB Dambis during Saturday’s race. Here all day long guests will have the opportunity to follow the race from the best seats in the house, as well as enjoy different original entertainment activities. The “ELKO Fan Tent” is organized with the support of AS “ELKO Group” largest partners in Latvia – “Acer” and “Samsung”.
