To strengthen the management team and ensure continuous rapid development of the company the computer components and solutions distributor JSC ELKO Group brings on board a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Jānis Abāšins will join the company as CEO and Board member starting from August 20, 2007. He will head ELKO Group management team and will be responsible for development and implementation of company’s short term and long term growth plans ensuring company’s efficient work and competitiveness in the markets.

For the past 15 years professional career of Jānis Abāšins has been tightly bound with insurance business in local and multinational companies and he has proved himself as result oriented and efficient top level manager. Among his latest professional achievements must be mentioned heading of Sampo Group representative office in Moscow where during three years he got a comprehensive experience and knowledge about Russian  insurance market and the country’s specifics. After that Jānis Abāšins returned to Latvia as Chief of the Board in JSC If Latvia (previously Sampo Latvia) and has transformed a small niche company into a broad-line corporation. While achieving rapid company’s growth and increase in market share he also substantially improved JSC If Latvia financial results. For the past 4 years before joining ELKO Group Jānis Abāšins has been President and Chief of the Board in JSC Balta where he significantly improved efficiency of the insurance company and optimised  operations by carrying out organisational changes and  implementing a unified IT system (Oracle) across the enterprise.
