With the aim to optimise sales processes and improve client service quality in the Baltic countries ELKO Grupa AS management has decided to restructure the company’s sales structure in the Baltic market. From June 5, 2006 all business operations and liabilities of ELKO Latvija SIA and ELKO Eesti AS will be overtaken by the mother company ELKO Grupa AS.
The changes in the first place will affect ELKO operations in Latvia and Estonia. Current ELKO Latvija SIA sales and marketing team will form a new structure within ELKO Grupa AS – Baltic sales department, while RMA, finance and IT employees will add up to the current ELKO Grupa AS divisions. The Baltic sales department team will continue to work with the customers in Latvia, as well as will partly take over cooperation with the customers in Estonia and will be responsible for the cooperation with vendors regarding products sold in the Baltic market. In Estonia ELKO will be represented by the current sales and marketing team, while finance, logistics and RMA management will be handled by ELKO Grupa AS in Riga.
Jens Hartmann, CEO of ELKO Grupa AS, speaks with confidence about the changes: „Structural changes in ELKO’s Baltic operations are a planned step in our business optimisation process. With the implementation of these changes our customer satisfaction level will grow and our cooperation with vendors regarding the Baltic market will become more flexible and fruitful.
Considering the small size of the three Baltic countries we have prepared this development already before the EU expansion in 2004. During the past years ELKO has purposefully invested remarkable resources in creation and development of IT infrastructure in the Baltics, particularly in Latvia. The company has synchronised the document flow between customers, ELKO internal structures and vendors, and we are planning a continuous improvement of our systems also in the future. The optimisation of the sales structure in the Baltics will enable us to ensure shorter delivery times of goods to our customers, and it is offering our customers a wider choice of products in the new central warehouse in Riga.”
ELKO Business development in Latvia and Baltic will be headed by Guntis Tomsons, currently ELKO Latvija SIA Chairman of the Board, who from June will lead the newly established Baltic sales department in ELKO Grupa AS.
ELKO Grupa AS daughter company ELKO Kaunas UAB and its current team will continue to represent ELKO in Lithuania without changes. ELKO customers in Lithuania will benefit from the changes in ELKO Baltic sales operations, as the Baltic sales department within ELKO Grupa AS structure will pay much more attention particularly to the Baltic market and its specific needs.
