Bucharest, September, 23rd - ELKOTech Romania held its annual Partner Meeting in the Brancoveanu Palace, the finest location in Mogosoaia, Romania. Despite one week of never-ending rain resulted in floods that have threaten the surroundings area of Bucharest (among them Mogosoaia, the meeting place), the event has gathered together all the most ‘brave’ partners – customers (system integrators, resellers), vendors, representatives of ELKO Group management and press.

Event started with a welcome speech from ELKOTech Romania and JSC ELKO Group senior management; objectives for the next period and the main strategic directions were presented, with accent on the specific support for partners. Presentations by vendor representatives Intel, Gigabyte, D-Link, Hitachi, Sony and Western Digital included information about the newest product and technologies, as well as company strategies and specific policies for Romanian market. Invitees had the opportunities to share ideas, discuss about IT market development trends, opportunities for further grow, specific ways to approach the market.

I would like to stress that until now we have made all our sales through our partners and in the future we will continue to be focused on purely distribution business and we do not have intentions to enter end-user or tender business – we value professionalism and experience of our customers-partners and we will remain exclusively in distribution business. Our main targets for the coming year are to offer a wider product mix to meet our customers needs, secure sufficient financial resource to ensure uninterrupted supply and stock for our customers in periods of shortage, develop more efficient logistic schemes to achieve vaster territorial coverage, continue development of IT solutions to optimize business process management, and offer better support for our customers through marketing instruments.” Mircea Ciucur, ELKOTech Romania Managing Director.

Sarted in 1999 with 3 employees, today ELKOTech Romania team counts for 20 employees and its portfolio includes products from more than 20 world known producers. In 2004 ELKOTech Romania reached 16 million USD turnover and company plans to reach 25% growth during year 2005. ELKO Group plans to become a 1 billion USD company by the year 2008.
