On 1st – 2nd October’04 ELKOTech Romania celebrated its fifth anniversary since the company has started operations in Romanian market. On this occasion, a special cycle of seminars was organized which included ELKOTech Romania and ELKO Group corporate presentations as well as presentations of the leading international vendors Intel, Gigabyte, Western Digital, D-Link. More than 100 guests representing Romanian IT companies - integrators and resellers, leading IT manufacturers, ELKO Group management and media attended the event. Anniversary was celebrated in Romanian most famous mountain resort Poiana Brasov, in the majestic Carpathian natural stronghold, at the foot of the Postavarul Mountain.
Besides the official part all guests were invited for a gala dinner with an extraordinary show and a spectacular firework. The show “How the computer arrived at Dracula’s castle?” performed by the most loved Romanian actors from Dan Puric Troupe was a synthesis of theatre, dance and mime and it charmed the audience in the fascinating surroundings of Rasnov Citadel.
“If I try to be objective in evaluation of the work of the company during these five years, I think we can declare ourselves satisfied, yet we are also aware that we have a lot of challenges ahead to achieve the high targets that we have set,” states ELKOTech Romania director Mircea Ciucur, “In order to strengthen our positions among leading IT wholesalers and to better meet the growing needs and requirements of the clients, our future plans include continuous widening of product portfolio, opening regional representative offices in major cities of the country, implementation of an e-commerce module, expansion of sales department and reshape of logistic department.”
Started in 1999 with 3 employees, today ELKOTech Romania team counts for 19 employees and its portfolio includes products from 20 world known producers. In 2003 ELKOTech Romania reached 11,8 million USD turnover and company plans to reach 25% growth during year 2004. While the average IT market growth worldwide is about 6%, Romanian IT market is expected to show twice higher growth rate of about 11% in next five years. During the same period, ELKOTech Romania expects to maintain an annual growth of up to 30%.
