ELKO Group continues its fast growth and has acquired a local regional distribution company in Slovakia. The new ELKO office, formerly known as Zero Banska Bystrica will operate under WESTech Banska Bystrica name. It is already second representative office of ELKO Group in Slovakia while the first was opened in 2000 in Bratislava under local name WESTech Slovakia. With the expansion of business in Slovakia, ELKO plans to grow its business in this country by 45% during 2004 thus reaching 35 millions USD turnover.
Jens Hartmann, ELKO Group CEO: “The ELKO management is very delighted with the development of the business in Slovakia. Our revenues in the first quarter of this year were 103% above the 2003 numbers. That is the reason to strengthen our position in Slovakia and invest in this fast growing country. In the coming months we are planning further investments.”
This step extends the coverage of Slovakia by the authorized distributors, moreover in the region of middle Slovakia, where strong authorized distributors were missing. The new ELKO branch should be a solid base in a boost of IT development and growth, which presently is underway in this region, and will also provide company’s new business partners with services and knowledge of an international company. “Our goal is to provide our clients with the resources and know how of a strong international distributor like is ELKO Group. I believe that their business will benefit from this synergic effect and we will continue our successful growth together,” states Matej Srsen, Director of WESTech Slovakia.
The official opening of WESTech Banska Bystrica office took place on June 3. On the occasion a special seminars with corporate presentation of ELKO Group and presentations of such world known international vendors as Intel, Logitech, and Western Digital were held. More than 70 representatives of local IT companies attendended the presentations.
