On 1st – 2nd October’04 ELKOTech Romania celebrated its fifth anniversary since the company has started operations in Romanian market. On this occasion, a special cycle of seminars was organized which included ELKOTech Romania and ELKO Group corporate presentations as well as presentations of the leading international vendors Intel, Gigabyte, Western Digital, D-Link. More than 100 guests representing Romanian IT companies - integrators and resellers, leading IT manufacturers, ELKO Group management and media attended the event.

On September 25 ELKOTex Slovenia celebrated its 5th anniversary as a member of the ELKO Group. More than 100 guests - key Slovenian computer equipment resellers and integrators, world’s leading IT manufacturers and ELKO Group management - gathered together on this occasion. The celebration took place in a village Dol, which is situated in very south of Slovenia on the bank of river Kolpa that now can be called also ‘the end of Europe’ because it draws the new EU border.

ELKO Group held its traditional Convention during September 8-11. The event gathered in Riga managers from ELKO Group head-office and sales offices together with company’s key business partners from 30 world-renowned IT manufacturers (among them Intel, Seagate, Western Digital, Sony, Samsung, Microsoft, Acer, and others). In total over 150 participants took part in the event.

During a Logitech Nordic event, that took place on August 19 in Tallinn, company’s Marketing Manager Iikka Buss awarded ELKO Group with a trophy of the best distributor in the Baltics in year 2004. "A professional and dedicated partner with an open mind, who successfully has developed the Logitech business in the region," states the diploma.

On Monday, July 5th, the legendary Olympic Torch Relay arrived to Kiev. ELKO Kiev director Anzhelika Rubezhova was chosen as one of the torchbearers! Anzhelika took the torch at 20:45 and her route passed the famous St. Sofia Cathedral.
The international journey of the Olympic flame spans 35 days, covering a distance of more than 78 000 kilometres. The flame visits every city that has hosted Summer Olympic Games and will also pass through cities with special symbolic meaning.

ELKO Group continues its fast growth and has acquired a local regional distribution company in Slovakia. The new ELKO office, formerly known as Zero Banska Bystrica will operate under WESTech Banska Bystrica name. It is already second representative office of ELKO Group in Slovakia while the first was opened in 2000 in Bratislava under local name WESTech Slovakia. With the expansion of business in Slovakia, ELKO plans to grow its business in this country by 45% during 2004 thus reaching 35 millions USD turnover.

On May 21st ELKO Kaunas, sales office of ELKO Group, gathered together its main business partners – dealers and vendors – to celebrate its ten years of operations in Lithuanian market. On the occasion a special cycle of seminars with corporate presentation of ELKO Kaunas and seminars of such known international vendors as Intel, Western Digital, Samsung, Lexmark, Seagate, Logitech was organized.

In the first quarter of 2004 ELKO Moscow raised Acer notebook sales 5 times in comparison with the beginning of year 2003. These outstanding results were announced after closing Acer program “Share the success”. Being a technical partner of Ferrari team in F1 competition Acer awarded its best partners with a special prize – trip to Formula 1 San Marino Grand Prix in the racetrack of Enzo and Dino Ferrari.

During Intel Distribution Sales Conference on March 10-12 ELKO Group was awarded for the highest overall Intel mobile processor sales out in 2003 in Emerging markets. At the same event Daryl Ganas, Intel Director Sales and Distribution, announced Ainars Svirskis, ELKO Group Product Manager, as the best Intel product line manager in 2003 in R/CIS region.
Overall ELKO Group is within top 3 distributors for Intel products in Eastern Europe.

During March 4-6 ELKO Group gathered together its partners – clients and IT producers, for ELKO Group Baltic Forum 2004, with the aim to share visions about IT market development in the region and find common opportunities for further growth and success. The Forum brought together top managers from more than 50 Baltic leading IT companies, representatives from 16 worlds leading IT producers, managers from ELKO Group Baltic sales offices and ELKO Group head office management, in total 170 participants.
