Moscow, 25 June 2008. Team building of a unique floating vessel became the culmination of the Regional Forum of Partners of ELKO Russia, which took place on the Baikal from 19 till 22 June 2008. An unusual vessel was built by almost 80 persons, who then participated in rafting that started from the landing stage of Nikola village to the Bolshaya river. A 400 square meter raft was created virtually beneath the eyes, from air bladders, panel boards and cord. It was built for “Irkutsk extremers ” rafting down the Angara. The rafting started from the quay of the base of the Ministry of Emergency Measures in Nikola village. The rafting of the participants down the Angara took about two hours and finished up with a lively dinner on board of a motor ship "Irkutsk ", to which the mega-raft moored.
The Regional Forum took place in Irkutsk region near the greatest and the most beautiful lake on the planet – the Baikal. The Forum was attended by the partners from 20 cities from three Federal Districts of Russia: the Ural, the Siberian and the Far East, as well as by representatives of ELKO and vendors.
During the official part of the Forum the participants had an opportunity to get better acquainted with the partnership policy and the products of such world manufacturers as Acer, Hitachi, Intel... During the conference the manufacturers announced a number of initiatives on working with a trade channel, and introduced novelties to the participants.
Opening the Forum, ELKO management spoke about the business results of the holding in 2007 and announced further plans for development of the company. The system of electronic commerce eCom, intended for realization the Internet-trade under B2B system, was presented to the audience The participants were invited to a round table informal discussion of such issues as “Local assembly of personal computer in the regions and A-Brands”, “Expansion of ELKO product portfolio”.
“For the first time we have made so high-scale action specially for our regional partners and were the first to build so powerful and flexible vessel for rafting down the Angara. It shows the attention which ELKO pays to development of regional business. The choice of the Ural, the Siberian and the Far East Federal Districts is not accidental, considering their share in Russian IT business and our position in these districts. I hope that similar actions will become a good tradition and, following the participants’ requests, we shall more often meet the partners from all regions of Russia.
