Starting in 1994 with 2 employees, today company counts 25 employees and offers products from more that 40 world know producers. The turnover of ELKO Kaunas has grown till 71,2 millions LTL in 2003. In the year of decade (2004) ELKO Kaunas forecasts to maintain the same rate of growth as in previous year.
“Now when we have joined the European Union, economic growth of the country will be even faster. It should also lead to greater investments in IT and generation of information society,” states ELKO Kaunas Director Giedrius Armanavicius, “To strengthen our positions among leading IT wholesalers and meet better the growing needs and requirements of the clients we will focus on becoming a one stop shop company with a strong local customers support – logistics, marketing, reclamations management, support from producers. Also we plan to optimise and extend our products range following the market changes.”
While the average IT market growth worldwide is about 6%, Baltic IT market is expected to show twice higher growth rate of about 13% in next five years. Of the three Baltic states Lithuania is forecasted to have a highest growth in 2004.
